This Week at The Comedy Clubhouse: June 3-9

Highlights

Hey, there, Comedy Clubhouse Regulars! Summer finally feels like it’s here, and we’re not slowing down at all! We’ll be open all summer long with most of our regular schedule in effect. And now that we have the new aircon working beautifully, we hope to be your haven from the heat in the next few months!

On Tuesday, we have a super fun format show called Comedians & Dragons. Host/Dungeon Master Stuart Kennedy is fresh off a Brighton Fringe Festival run, and has a great Pride month lineup of comedians who know little to nothing about Dungeons & Dragons. Enjoy watching local favorites Iain Anderson, Mara Ambrosie, and Matt Jagiello navigate through a role play adventure as different magical characters. It’s a great show for people who love RPGs, but it’s also fun for people who have no idea what that means!

We’re also super happy to have a visiting comedian coming  in from London doing a bunch of different shows: Lee Hudson! Lee will headline Friday Night Live and the Saturday Spotlight, do his solo hour (Baggage Limit), and participate in the Roast Battle this week! He was part of Barcelona’s first international Roast Battle show (BCN. vs. LDN) and is one of the top battlers on the London scene. He’s also a fantastic stand up comedian, mixing a storytelling vibe with clever punchlines. Make sure to catch Lee on one of these shows this weekend or risk missing out!

Saturday Spotlight

Our Spotlight headliner is coming in from London, it’s Lee Hudson! Lee has developed a reputation as an audience favorite for his punchline-heavy storytelling, quick witted observations and dry self-deprecation. He is a regular at London’s biggest comedy clubs and performs all across the world. Tour support for Tom Stade, Vittorio Angelone and Justin Moorhouse, as well as opening for top US comics Dan Soder and Andy Haynes on their London shows. Roast Battle fans may remember Lee from our BCN vs. LDN show last year, so we’re happy to have him back on more amicable terms!

Openers: Filippo Spreafico and Natalie Lyn

Host: John Allis

Special Shows This Week

🐉 We are so happy to have another edition of Comedians and Dragons at the Clubhouse this week, and since it’s June it’ll be a Pride Month Special! Watch as Dungeon Master Stuart Kennedy leads 3 brave comedians (Iain Anderson, Mara Ambrosie, and Matt Jagiello) on a role-playing adventure. The only thing is, the 3 of them don’t know how to play Dungeons & Dragons. It’ll be chaotic, hilarious, and unexpected! Plus, the audience gets the chance to participate, so D&D lovers come ready with your favorite spells!

🔥 Roast Battle BCN is back! One of our battles was ranked second IN THE WORLD last week, so let’s see if we can get some more bangers. Join the fun as 4 sets of comedians insult each other hilariously. It’ll get rough, but always ends in a hug! This week we have battles between Lee Hudson vs. Mila Kopaeva, Romina Cocca vs. Aurelio Lova, Palla vs James Regal, and Oli Bussell vs. Darren Cullen. Hosted by Fil Varney, with judges Hannah Becker, Stuart Kennedy, and Luke Messina.

🔞 It’s time for another edition of The Offenders, the show for anyone who isn’t easily offended! Comedians will be bringing their dirtiest, darkest, most edgy material for this showcase.

🧳 If you want to see an hour of stand up from our Spotlight headliner, Lee Hudson will be doing his show Baggage Limit as well this weekend. Everyone has baggage, Lee Hudson has quite a bit. In this show he shares his and asks how early into dating or a new relationship should he be telling people about it all? How much baggage is too much baggage? Through candid storytelling, Lee brings you into his world and invites you to help him figure it all out.

🙅🏼 After a great show last week, our regular host (and Comedy Clubhouse bossman) John Allis is back at the gong. Come see comedians of all levels trying their best to make the audience laugh before they get voted off stage. Who will beat the gong? Find out on Saturday at Gong Wild!

🎭 Legendary improviser Jenny Bareilles from PIT in NYC is teaming up with Nicolette Sweeney for an evening of longform improv. They’ll have a few other friends playing with them, so come for a once-in-a-lifetime show (because it’s improv, so it’s never the same show twice).

🍮 Lovers of all things wacky and weird, check out Nonsense Pudding, our open mic for anything that’s funny but isn’t quite stand up or improv. Expect characters, sketches, musical comedy, clowning, and other utter nonsense!

🇸🇪 If you speak Swedish, don’t miss Banansnubbel, a variety show in Swedish hosted by Vem and Emil!
