Hello hello, party people! I’ve just gotten back from vacation and definitely have a case of the post-holiday blues. Thankfully, the best cure is COMEDY and there’s plenty of that to go around.
This weekend is the LAST EVER Cobbler & Co, and Kyla will be here to host. We’ll be changing around the schedule a bit in September, but don’t worry, Kyla will still be doing shows with us! We’ll tell you more about that another day, but for now, you can use the code ENDOFANERA on our website to get 2×1 tickets for the final Cobbler & Co this Sunday at 8pm. Let’s show Kyla just how much we love her and pack out the room!
We also would humbly like to ask you to vote for the poster Vem made for the Comedy Clubhouse-sponsored compilation show our local comedians have been running at the Edinburgh Fringe this month. It features hand-drawn cartoons of the 5 comedians hosting it (Michelle Ahern, Jamie Lerner, Mariah Girouard, Darren Cullen, and Iain Anderson) as silly CATS. Isn’t that creative and adorable? Give it a vote here for best poster of the Fringe: https://www.comedy.co.uk/posters/view/1388/

Special Shows This Week
🇮🇳 OYE YAAR is an stand-up comedy show in English with a eclectic selection of NRI comedians bringing jokes of their life in India & abroad. “OYE YAAR” literally translates to “Hey, friend” and it’s a friendly show with some jokes and games. Most of the show will be in English, however it is impossible that people from the Indian diaspora meet and don’t speak in their beautiful tongues. The lineup comes from all over the cultural landscape, telling their first hand stories of the surreal experience of being “brown”.
😾 Local favorite Mila Kopaeva is performing her hour, Rage Baby, again this week! Rage baby is a show about the absurdity of everyday life, yearning for connection and struggles of fitting in. Despite the hurdles, Mila remains hopeful, and maybe even a bit defiant towards societal norms. If you’ve ever felt like a single banana separated from the bunch, or a starfish kept in an aquarium, this is a show for you!
🇦🇺 We’ve got a bunch of shows from killer Aussie comedian, Luke Kidgell, and they’re MOSTLY sold out! We added an early show this Friday at 6:30 and there are a couple of tickets left as I write this, so hurry and grab them before they’re booked for good!
✈️ South African Comedian Dalin Oliver is heading to The Comedy Clubhouse to make his Barcelona debut with his international award-winning stand-up comedy show 90 Day Comedian. It’s a coming-of-age story for the Cape Town based former teacher, with a fresh take on life after spending more time abroad. He can’t wait to kick off his first tour of Spain and get hitched to the comedy scene before his work visa & jokes expire.
🎤 And the One Minute Mic continues! Anyone who wants to can sign up for the chance to do 1 minute of jokes, then get feedback and prizes from hosts Jordan Thomas Gray and Irene Sango (plus a different guest host every week!) If you kill it, you may even get a spot on one of our showcases! You can also just come watch and perhaps see the birth of a new comedy career.
