Hey there, comedy fans! It’s another week, and another reminder to come see some comedy this week!
As always, we start the week off with free and cheap open mics, where acts can try out their newest material and hopefully strike gold (or bomb gloriously). You can even try yourself, just get in touch! As the week moves on, the prices get steeper and the lineups get better… so if you’re a true comedy connaisseur, you’ll want to sample one of our showcases to get a taste of what our local scene has to offer, plus visiting comedians from all over the world. And if you want something that’s NOT stand up comedy, we have you covered with improv, format shows, and workshops. Basically, there’s something to satisfy all of your entertainment needs! And we hope you’ll come spend some time with us!

Saturday Spotlight: Anshita Koul
37, Indian, queer, childfree by choice, and a standup comedian by profession—Anshita Koul (she/they) is a poster child for everything the heteronormative patriarchy hates. But don’t worry kids, she hates it back way more. Anshita is currently on tour, and has taken her debut hour (and parts of it) to 34+ cities across Europe & UK, including Edinburgh Fringe ‘22, Tallinn Fringe ‘22 and ‘23, Copenhagen Pride Stage ‘23, and the backyard of a rich Flemish man. They have created a name for themselves in the English comedy scene in Europe with their political satires, punch up routines, and a funny itch to decolonise standup comedy.

☝️ The One Minute Mic is back this Tuesday! Anyone who signs up can get the chance to perform 1 minute of comedy to the audience and a panel of comedians led by Irene Sango and Pascal Hausberger. After their minute of glory, the panel will interview them, give feedback, and perhaps even award a prize! Come see the birth of a new career, or a 1-minute long trainwreck!
🏴 Every Wednesday, we ask a friendly comedian to host the 7:30pm show with a lineup of their favorite acts, and this week we’re happy to have Iain Anderson at the helm! Although he’s relatively new to stand up, this quickly rising star has already brought a solo hour to the Edinburgh Fringe, and hosts one of our weekly open mics. He’ll be joined by Amy Walsh, James Regal, and Olga Camacho for an amazing evening of comedy!
🔥 The global Roast Battle season is over, but we’re staying battle-ready here in BCN! This week, we’ll see some newer faces take the Roast Battle stage against some more experienced battlers in a series of exhibition matches. Who will be the next star to emerge from our Roast Battle scene? Come find out on Thursday!
🇺🇸 From Amsterdam to America and back again, Rogier Bak is a Dutch comedian who feels like a foreigner in his home country. In his riotous debut solo show, Made in USA, Rogier puts his characteristically energetic and engaging style of comedy on full display as he spotlights cultural contradictions, human behavior, and his own coming of age in the land of opportunity. 💘 Looking for love in all the wrong places? Here’s one more! Lolyamorous is a live speed-dating show, where you can sign up to go on a date with another random audience member (all genders and sexualities welcome!) and then get interviewed by the Lolyamorous panel, including comedians and a sex/relationship expert. It’s a fun way to meet new people while laughing and having a great Saturday night!
☕️ Early risers, rejoice! Coffee Con Comedy, our daytime talk show, is back with another episode filled with comedy, interviews, music, games, and more silliness, all hosted by the amazing Vem & Vos. Free pancakes included!

Queste sono le premesse del terzo spettacolo di Valo Pusceddu, dal titolo “Ex Bambina Prodigio”: un flusso di coscienza in cui, con lo stile tagliente che la contraddistingue, la comica racconta aneddoti personali passando dai ricordi d’infanzia all’ansia per i parcheggi a S, illustra gli insoliti benefici della dieta vegetariana e condivide perplessità su viaggi, tatuaggi, terapia e talent show. Il risultato è una riflessione su salute mentale, stereotipi e lotta di classe, intervallata da immancabili citazioni alla cultura pop.
