Hey, comedy fans! If you love comedy (I mean, why else would you be in this group??) then you HAVE to come to a show this week. We’ve got some top-notch visitors in town that you won’t want to miss.
Like this Wednesday, we have the last “Kyla Cobbler & Friends” show for a while, since she’s leaving for tour and travels soon. The lineup for this is INSANE. She’ll be joined by one of the other most successful comics to come up in Barcelona, Marnie Manning! She was just on tour in the US with Michelle Wolf, and will be heading back on tour with Michelle and Kyla later this month. Then, there’s Mike Rice, who briefly lived in Barcelona, but is now killing it on sold-out tours around Ireland and the UK. He’s genuinely one of the funniest comics I actually know in real life, and I think you’ll agree when you see him live (and you can also get one of the last tickets to his new solo show on thursday if you’re quick!) The final act will be Josh Glanc, who we’re flying out this week to do his solo show, headline the Spotlight, and do a bunch of other spots. This alternative Aussie act recently moved to London where he has already started making videos for Channel 4. He’s also been a Fringe favorite for years, with his last Edinburgh show earning a nomination for Best Show! You’ll never get a lineup like this again, so don’t miss Kyla Cobbler & Friends this week!
We’re also so stoked to be filming a legit comedy special this weekend for one of our local favorites. Andy Casper is finally ready to put his award-winning solo show “Gremlin Head” to bed, so we’re recording it right here at The Comedy Clubhouse. His show tells the story of his change from anxiety-ridden primary school teacher living in London beneath the shadow of his OCD to international stand up comedian and generally content man. This show casts a light over the darkness of obsessive compulsive disorder and is a beacon of hope for anyone struggling and failing to control their own thoughts. If you want to be a part of history, you’ll grab one of the last tickets available for this live taping, and your laughter will forever be a part of this comedy special!

Saturday Spotlight: Josh Glanc
Josh Glanc is an actor, comedian, and performer who has won a bunch of awards, had sold out runs at the Soho Theatre, the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe, where he was nominated for the Edinburgh Comedy Award for Best Show. He’s made a Comedy Playground with Channel 4 (UK) and has appeared on Australian television shows Comedy Up Late (ABC), Utopia (ABC) and Skit Happens (Network Ten). He’s performed comedy at Glastonbury, the O2 Arena, Just For Laughs, and was nominated for 3 Green Room Awards for his show “Vrooom Vrooom”. Expect silly songs, wacky physical comedy, surreal stand up, and absurdist comedy.

Intrusive urges have bombarded him since adolescence bringing on feelings of intense shame but when he moves to Barcelona he finds a way out of the misery. October 11th will be the last time on Earth that this show will ever be performed as Andy has moved on to work on a new show. To mark this auspicious occasion it will be recorded live on camera.
