About Us

The Comedy Clubhouse was born in March 2021 by a group of comedians in Barcelona who had no experience running a bar, running a business, or doing anything particularly useful, except for telling d*** jokes. But with a bit of grit and a whole lot of wit, they managed to pack out the place, and by the end of 2021, they realised that Pub Limerick wasn’t quite big enough for the buzz.

Queue Canvis Nous, an empty space with little more than a paint job, never mind a stage. We built everything from scratch, from the bar to the performance spaces. Word of mouth got out and boom…after a few years, it was brimming at the seams, so we decided to expand our creative efforts to Via Laietana, a bigger location with even bigger potential.

What started out as a passion project became the epicentre of comedy in Barcelona. This creative hub has helped develop some of the biggest up-and-comers in the industry, like Kyla Cobbler and Mike Rice, and has welcomed massive superstars like Michelle Wolf, Trevor Noah, Tim Meadows, Matt Walsh, Mark Normand, Russell Howard, Shoot From The Hip & more! (Not to brag, but the list is like, HUGE).

Of course, game recognises game, so now The Comedy Clubhouse is collaborating with big local and international comedy and entertainment brands like Soho House, Don’t Tell Comedy, and the Casino of Barcelona to bring the people together, one laugh at a time.

And that’s what’s really at the heart of everything we do – bringing people together and creating a sense of community. It’s a place where musicians, poets, comedians, artists, and fans can come together to share and appreciate the art of performance, hone their craft onstage or at a free workshop, eat, drink, and be merry.
